CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Two of the Mid-South Conference's top three teams will face off Tuesday night, as Campbellsville women's volleyball will host Georgetown College at 7 p.m. ET. The match has been moved to the Gosser Gymnasium and there will be no live video.
Georgetown is responsible for the Lady Tigers last conference loss as GC swept CU on Sept. 25 in Georgetown, Ky. that started a five-match losing streak for Campbellsville.
Since the end of the losing streak, CU has won six-straight matches with their most recent win coming last Saturday at Life University. In the match against the Running Eagles, Campbellsville edged out the first set 25-23, then won sets three and four by wide margins of 25-14 and 25-11 after dropping the second set 25-14.
Graduate outside hitter
Maria Coelho is coming off of a week where she led CU in kills in each of their two matches with 11 at Cumberlands and 15 at Life.
Georgetown has won their last two matches, against the same two teams that Campbellsville played last week in Life and Cumberlands where they also earned wins against each team. GC has a trio of attackers with over 200 kills as Ashton Meckle has the most with 271, along with Madison Mudd (216) and Emma Pike (214) very close with their totals.
As the MSC schedule nears a close, the Lady Tigers find themselves securely in third place with an 8-2 conference record and can pass Georgetown for second with a win over the Tigers on Tuesday.
CU will have four matches remaining after Tuesday, three of which will be played at home and three of which are Mid-South Conference matches.
