Tiger golf slips to third; Warman shoots two-under to sit in a tie for second at NCCAA Championship

PALM COAST, Fla. — Campbellsville men's golf fell off the pace a little and Erskine College fired two-under 286 to jump into first place at the NCCAA Golf Championship.

Erskine College, out of South Carolina, had three golfers shoot under par, while Campbellsville had just one – Justin Warman. The Tigers moved back to third place as Ottawa University also had a stellar second round with a team score of 293. The Tigers shot three strokes worse than yesterday, 303.

Warman fired a two-under 70 in his second round to jump into a tie for second place – five strokes off the lead by Carter Lewis from Ottawa University. Warman rolled in a season-high seven birdies but fell victim to five bogeys.

Jon Brewington carded a three-over 75 to improve by one stroke from his first round. Brewington rolled in one birdie on the opening hole of the day and again on the par-four sixth hole but dropped five strokes with bogeys – including four on the back-nine. He's sitting in 13^thplace.

The final three Tigers all fell off the place in their second rounds. Seth Bohl dropped five strokes form a 74 to a 79 and is tied for 15^th, while Austin Mahoney dropped three strokes from a 76 to 79 and is tied for 17^th. Rounding out the Tigers is Landon Conner in 29^thplace. He's shot 78-80 in his first two rounds.

The Tigers made cut into the final round of the NCCAA Championship for the first time in the Jim Ward era by sitting in the Top 9 through the first two rounds. CU tees off tomorrow at 9:30 in the final group off No. 1 tee with Erskine College and Ottawa.
