Tiger and Lady Tiger soccer hosts Georgetown to complete Mid-South Conference play

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Tiger and Lady Tiger soccer return home on Wednesday night for their final doubleheader and last Mid-South Conference match of the season, as Georgetown College travels to Tiger Town. 
 
The doubleheader begins at 6 p.m. ET with the women's game, while the Tigers follow at 8:00. Fans can follow the action live on the Campbellsville University Sports Network at the links above. 
 
Before the men's contest, coach Adam Preston will honor his 2018-19 senior class with a brief ceremony. The women's senior night is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27 as a make-up contest with Cincinnati Christian was added to the home schedule.
 

Lady Tigers vs. Georgetown:
  • The Lady Tigers enter the weekend with an 9-6 record and 3-3 inside MSC play.
  • CU sits in fourth place in the MSC standings. A win on Wednesday night would secure the fourth spot in the upcoming MSC Tournament. 
  • Georgetown enters the week with a 2-4 record inside MSC play and the Tigers are tied with Life and Shawnee State for fifth place in the standings. 
  • A win for Georgetown will put them at 3-4 overall and in a tie with Campbellsville. Georgetown would hold the tiebreaker over CU and be the four-seed in the upcoming MSC Tourney and Campbellsville would be the five-seed.
  • Campbellsville has won four of its last six games, including three conference matches over Shawnee State University (6-1), Life University (4-2) and University of Pikeville (5-0).
  • Since 2007, the Lady Tigers are 5-7-2 vs. Georgetown, including playing each other in three overtime matches and three times in the MSC Tourney.
  • Lakin Walls leads CU with 12 goals on the season. In her career, Walls has scored 21 goals overall. She is one goal away from being tied for seventh on the all-time single-season scoring list. 
  • Georgetown is led by Skye Zimmer's 10 goals and Bethany Massey's nine. 
  • The GC Tigers have out-scored opponents, 32-29 overall. 
  • Up next: The Lady Tigers host Cincinnati Christian on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Martin Methodist on Monday, Oct. 29.  
Tigers vs. Georgetown:
  • The Tigers enter the week with a 7-6 record and are 4-2 inside conference play. 
  • CU sits in a tie for third in the MSC standings and a win on Wednesday and a University of the Cumberlands loss would secure them the three-seed in the upcoming MSC Tourney. 
  • A Tiger loss would tie them with Life University and CU would hold the tiebreaker over the Running Eagles after defeating them 1-0 earlier this month. 
  • Georgetown College enters the week with a 9-8 record and 2-4 inside the MSC. 
  • GC is sitting in sixth place in the standings. A win for GC on Wednesday night could tie them with Life University at 3-4 overall but the Running Eagles hold the tie breaker after defeating GC, 7-0, earlier this year.
  • Campbellsville has won five of their last seven games vs. Bethel (1-0), Shawnee State (6-4) Life University (1-0), Pikeville (2-1 in OT) and Cumberlands (2-0).
  • CU's two conference losses came to Lindsey Wilson (6-1) and Cumberland University (4-0).
  • CU and Georgetown are meeting for the 15thtime since 2007 and Campbellsville holds a 11-2-1 record. 
  • Campbellsville hasn't lost at home to Georgetown dating back to the Dakstats era beginning in 2007. 
  • The Tigers have won seven-straight over Georgetown dating back to the 2011 season.
  • Troy Walters and Nathaniel Fonda both lead the Tigers with five goals on the year, while the Tigers have out-scored opponents, 30-23. 
  • Up next: The Tigers will travel to Oakland City University on Saturday to conclude their regular season.
