Tigers celebrate Senior Night with 2-0 win over rival Georgetown College

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Tiger soccer scored two goals in the first half and that was all Campbellsville needed in tonight's 2-0 Senior Night victory over Georgetown.

Campbellsville, which honored its seniors Nathan Heath, Nathaniel Fonda and Rickard Hallin before the game, improved to 8-6 overall and clinched the three-seed in the MSC Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 5-2 record.

The Tigers got it going early but cooled quickly. Lucas Batistela scored in the eighth minute as Rafael Murube picked up the assist. Just five minutes later, Marube scored his first goal of the year to put CU ahead, 2-0.

The Tigers dominated the pitch tonight totaling 34 shots compared to eight for Georgetown. CU also had 13 shots on goal and Jacob Roberts finished with 11 saves.

Campbellsville's Owen Stott denied the only two shots on goal for Georgetown tonight to earn two saves and pick up fourth shutout of the season.

Campbellsville now concludes its regular season on Saturday as the Tigers travel to Oakland City University. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.
