Withrow leads NCCAA Women's Golf Championship by three strokes headed into third round

PALM COAST, Fla. — Senior Kylie Withrow backed up her two-over 74 from the opening round to fire a 76 in the second and leads the NCCAA Women's Golf National Championship by three strokes heading into today's final round.

Withrow, a senior from Glasgow, Ky., had a pair of birdies on the 10^thand 11 holes but finished with six bogeys overall to shoot her 76. Overall on the week, she has five birdies including a combined three in her first three holes the last two days on the first, 10^thand 11 holes.

The rest of the Lady Tigers all finished in the 80s during their second round, as fellow senior Michaela Jarman shot an 82 to fall out of the Top 10 to tied for 16^th. Jarman fell victim to a double and triple on the 11^thand 14^thholes, respectively, yesterday and was unable to card any birdies.

Freshmen Paige Ferguson and Madison Ferrie, both playing in their first national championship, shot 85 and 82, respectively. Ferguson was rolling out of the gates on Monday but her second round saw six bogeys, two doubles and a triple to fall back in a tie for 19^th.

Ferrie improved her second-round score by eight strokes compared to Monday's opening 18. She carded her first birdie yesterday on the par-five ninth hole, but black numbers haunted once again. She had five bogeys, a double and her third triple bogey of the tournament to sit in a tie for 29^th.

Sophomore Kristen Miller shot 88-85 in her first two rounds and also birdied the ninth hole yesterday for her first red number of the championship. She sits in a tie for 33^rdheading into today's final round.

As a team, the Lady Tigers (+68) are in third place – 21 strokes behind Biola University (+47) and 18 strokes behind Erskine College (+50).
