CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville women's volleyball will begin their final week of Mid-South Conference matches this week as they travel to Lebanon, Tenn. to face Cumberland University Tuesday night.
The Lady Tigers will head into the match on an eight-match winnings streak as they're one win away from their 20
th win of the season. After edging out a tight match against Georgetown College last Tuesday, CU made quick work of Shawnee State in a 3-0 sweep last Friday.
The current winnings streak for the Lady Tigers started with their first match of the season against the Phoenix on Oct. 2. In that match, freshman
Sonia Flendrich recorded a career-high 17 kills, helping CU win in five sets.
Cumberland is currently in the midst of their own five-match winning streak with their last loss coming against No. 6 Lindsey Wilson on Oct. 23. Other than that loss, Cumberland has won eight of their last nine matches dating all the way back to Oct. 13.
The Phoenix have three attackers with over 200 kills led by Masa Nalovic who has 305 kills and a hitting percentage of .266. They also rotate two setters in Sara Glassman and Sadie Edmonston who combined to have over 1,000 assists on the season.
After this match, Campbellsville will have one conference match remaining when they host Lindsey Wilson this Thursday for their Dig Pink match and next week will be the regular season finale at home against Brescia University for Senior Night.
