Heath earns First-Team; Walters, Edge and Fonda named to Second-Team All-MSC

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Mid-South Conference officials announced four Tigers earned All-Conference honors at tonight's annual awards banquet at the National Corvette Museum.

Nathan Heath was the lone First-Team All-MSC representative for the Tigers, while Tom Edge, Nathaniel Fonda and Troy Walters were named to the Second-Team.

Heath, a senior Manchester, England, has been a huge asset for the Tigers in their last line of defense. He's helped the Tigers six shutouts, including three straight to Cumberlands, Georgetown and Oakland City to end the season.

On the offensive side of the field, he has scored five goals to tie Waters and Fonda with the team-high.

Walters and Fonda – both first-year players for the Tigers – have been stellar this season. Walters, from Bristol, England, scored two goals against Kentucky Christian and in addition to his five goals, he's dished out two assists.

Fonda, from Asuncion, Paraguay, also has a multi-score game with two goals against Shawnee State on Oct. 2.

Edge, a mid-fielder from Wolverhampton, England, has one goal on the year – which came against Kentucky Christian University on Sept. 7.

The Mid-South Conference also announced Lindsey Wilson's Andrew Revanales was named the Player of the Year, while Bennet Strutz earned Defensive Player of the Year honors from Cumberland University.

The Freshman of the Year is from Shawnee State, Kevin deLange, while Adam Grant, from Cumberland University, was named Coach of the Year after the Phoenix won the MSC regular season title.

The MSC quarterfinal rounds are scheduled to begin on Friday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. ET.

No. 1-seed Cumberland University faces No. 8-seed Shawnee State at 11 a.m. ET on Friday, while No. 2-seeded Lindsey Wilson and No. 7-seeded UPIKE play at 1:30.

Campbellsville, which earned the No. 3-seed in the tourney, plays sixth-seeded Georgetown College at 4 p.m., while University of the Cumberlands and Life play in the four-five-seed game at 6:30.

All eight games will air on the Campbellsville University Sports Network – www.campbellsvilletigers.com/watch. Also, live stats will be available through Dakstats and the official stat provider of the Campbellsville Tigers, Statbroadcast, on www.campbellsvillestats.com.
