Hurricane forces 36 holes to be played in one day; Lady Tigers place third at Thomas U. Invite

THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Due to another hurricane entering the southern part of the United States, The Thomas University Invitational was forced to play 36 holes in one day and Campbellsville women's golf placed third.

The Lady Tigers shot a 327 in round one and 335 in the second round – which was 60 strokes behind the champions University of the Cumberlands (602). Cumberland University finished in second place after scores of 318 and 323 (641).

Individually, senior Kylie Withrow led the Lady Tigers once again. Withrow fired 79-78 in the two rounds to finished tied for seventh.

Michaela Jarman snuck into the Top 10 after falling back four strokes in her second round. She shot 78-82 to place ninth.

Freshman Madison Ferrie struggled overall as she played Kinderlou Forest Golf Club for the first time. Ferrie shot 85-86 to place 19^th.

Paige Ferguson and Kristen Miller rounded out the Lady Tigers top 5. Ferguson shot 85-90 and Miller was 86-89 to both be tied for 24^th.

University of the Cumberlands' Brianna Baird won individual medalist honors with matching 73s to out-last teammate Hannah Griffith. Also, Lucia Pena finished third for the Patriots with 76-77.

The Lady Tigers will now have two weeks to prepare for the NCCAA Championship at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla.
