Walls and Hall lead Lady Tiger soccer to 6-1 rout over Life University in MSC quarterfinal

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Molly Hall and Lakin Walls both scored a pair of goals and Campbellsville University rolled past Life University 6-1 in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament. 
 
The Lady Tigers dominated the pitch with 26 shots compared to only eight for the Running Eagles as CU ended Life's season with a 6-12 record. 
 
Campbellsville now advances to the MSC semifinal and will play top-seeded Lindsey Wilson on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 12 p.m. ET at Bowling Green High School. 
 
Tonight, though, it was the two First-Team All-MSC performers showing out on the pitch. Hall put CU ahead in the 24thminutes and Walls followed just 50 seconds later giving the Lady Tigers a 2-0 lead.
 
Life did answer in the 34thas Josie Davis brought the Running Eagles back within a goal but Walls' second scored in the 39thminute put CU ahead and the Lady Tigers would pour it on in the second half. 
 
Out of the three goals in the first 45 minutes, Rachel Blumfeldt, Hall and Claudia Eckstein all recorded assists. 
 
In the second half, it only took Hall 35 seconds to put CU ahead, 4-1. She received a pass from Rachel McWilliams for her 16thgoals of the year – matching Walls for the team-high. 
 
The 16 goals is also tied for fourth in a single-season behind Jessica Ralph (18; 2013), and Mhairi Fyfe's 24 and 27 in 2014 and 2015, respectively. 
 
CU scored two more goals in the final 20 minutes. Eckstein tallied her second goal from 30-yards to put CU ahead, 5-1, and then McWilliams capitalized in the 66th
 
Katelyn Young had an easy night in goal with four saves, while Sydney Pinkham recorded on save in the final few minutes of actions.
