Tiger soccer kicks off sixth NCCAA Championship on Monday night vs. Warner University

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — After winning their third NCCAA Mid-East Regional title, Campbellsville men's soccer is set to begin its Championship run on Monday night in Kissimmee, Florida. 
 
The Tigers, who earned the No. 3-seed, face off with No. 7-seeded Warner University at 7:30 p.m. ET at Austin-Tindall Soccer Complex.
 
Pool play games begins on Monday, Nov. 26 and the championship match is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1.

Campbellsville enters the tournament with an 11-7 record and reached the championship site after dominating Oakland City University, 4-0, on Nov. 17. 
 
Warner is making its first NCCAA Championship appearance after winning 2-0 over Columbia International in the South Regional. 
 
The Tigers are playing in their sixth national tournament – 2008, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2017. In the last two appearances, CU has a 2-2 record after splitting wins and loses each year in pool play. The best finish by Campbellsville in the NCCAA Championship is a fifth place showing in 2010 by beating Southwestern Christian University, 3-2. 
 
Campbellsville is led in scoring by Troy Walters' eight goals. He tallied his first-career hat trick in the win over Oakland City in the Mid-East Region title game. The Tigers rank No. 5 in the NAIA by averaging 20.3 shots per game and 2.3 goals.  
 
In goal, Owen Stott has solidified himself with six shutouts and 43 saves on the year. 
 
Warner University enters the championship with a 12-5-1 record. The Royals lost in the Sun Conference opening round to Keiser University, 3-1, before defeating Columbia International, 2-0, in the regional.
 
The Royals are led by Daniel Rodriguez's 12 goals, while Matheus Santiago has 11. Warner has scored 38 goals in 18 games, good for a 2.1 average per game.
