No. 5 Lady Tigers look to stay perfect at home against West Virginia Tech on Saturday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The final home game of the 2018 calendar year is on tap for Saturday afternoon as No. 5 Campbellsville University women's basketball welcomes the Golden Bears of West Virginia Tech to the Powell Athletic Center. 
 
Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 15 with coverage beginning on the CU Sports Network at 12:45. Fans can tune in at the links above.
 
The Lady Tigers (10-1) are perfect at home so far this year with a 5-0 record and are looking to push its win streak to six-straight games. CU is coming off three straight 100-plus point performances - which is the first time in Lady Tiger basketball history that has happened three straight games. 
 
Campbellsville is averaging 96 points per game - which ranks No. 2 in the country, while the Lady Tigers' 255 assists and 23.1 apg average is tops in the NAIA. 

The Golden Bears of West Virginia Tech enter the weekend with a 7-6 record and are playing their final game before the Christ- mas holiday. WVU Tech is coming off a 61-59 loss to Point Park last weekend but has won six of its last seven games. 
 

Series Facts:
  • Campbellsville and West Virginia Tech are meeting for the 16th time in history.
  • The Lady Tigers lead the series, 14-1.
  • While playing in the Powell Athletic Center, CU is a perfect 6-0.
  • In history on the road, the Lady Tigers are 5-1 - the lone loss in the series for CU came on Feb. 3, 2007, 73-53, in Huntington, W. Va.
  • During Coach Colvin's tenure, the Lady Tigers are 4-0 at home, 4-0 on the road and 2-0 at neutral sites.
  • Overall in the series, the Lady Tigers are averaging 81 points per game compared to 62.2 for the Golden Bears.
  • In Coach Colvin's tenure, CU is averaging 81.3 points compared to 57.6 for WVU Tech. It is the second meeting between the two head coaches.
  • CU won the lone meeting between Colvin and Kawalska last year, 94-73.
  • The very first meeting between the two programs came in the 2007 season. CU defeated the Golden Bears, 89-57, on Feb. 24, 2007.
Three Straight 100-Point Games:
  • For the first time in Lady Tiger basketball history, CU scored 100+ points in three- straight games.
  • The Lady Tigers knocked off the Virgin Islands (103-54), Ohio Christian (107-47), and Simmons College (127-33) in the last three games.
  • It is the fourth game this season CU has scored over 100 points - which is the second most in a season thus far.
  • The 2010-11 team scored 100+ in five games throughout the year and had four 100+ games in a span six contests.
CU Ends Five-Game Home Stand:
  • The Lady Tigers knocked off the Virgin Islands twice (97-69 and 103-54), Ohio Christian (107- 47), and Simmons College (127-33) in the last four games.
  • CU ends its five-game home span today with West Virginia Tech before hitting the road for the Pikeville Classic next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sammy Rogers Still on Sidelines:
  • Sophomore Sammy Rogers will miss her third straight game after going down with a finger injury on her right hand – non-shooting hand - on Dec. 4.
  • Rogers is averaging 6.5 points per game and scored a career-high 18 in the season opener against Brescia University on Oct. 26.
LTB Needs Jordan Doram on the Court:
  • Of the eight Lady Tigers that have seen action in all 11 games, senior Jordan Doram is playing the second-least minutes.
  • Doram is averaging only 13.6 minutes per game and still scoring nine points a contest.
  • She's seventh on the team in rebounding but leads the Lady Tigers by hitting 63% (39-of- 62) from the floor.
  • The kicker for Doram this season is foul trouble. She's been called for 34 fouls and fouled out four games this year.
Lexy Lake Has Been Nice Surprise:
  • Freshman sharpshooter Lexy Lake has been a huge lift off the Lady Tiger bench in the first part of the year.
  • Lake is averaging 8.3 points per game in the 10 contests she's seen action. She's hit 23 total 3-pointers to lead CU - which is 2.3 triples per game off the bench.
  • Her 23 3-pointers ranks 31st in the NAIA.
  • She's hit two or more 3s in five of the last six games, including 14-of-37 in the last four.
  • Lake scored a career-high 17 points in back- to-back games against the Virgin Islands and had 14 against Simmons College. In each of those games, Lake hit four 3s or more.
Up Next for the Lady Tigers:
  • CU gets back underway next week at the Pikeville Classic on Tuesday-Wednesday, Dec. 18-19.
  • The Lady Tigers play Marian University at 12 p.m. ET on Tuesday and Saint Francis on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
  • Both games will air on the CU Sports Network, 88.7 The Tiger.
  • CU does not get back underway until after the Christmas holiday as the Lady Tigers travel to Mobile, Ala. to play the University of Mobile on Dec. 29 and then Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala. on Dec. 31.
