PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – In the nine matches, Campbellsville dropped just six total games en route to posting a 9-0 win over Shawnee State University on the road.
The Tigers have pushed their overall record to 7-0 and are now 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference.
Campbellsville earned an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles from the fifth-seeded doubles pair in the NAIA in
Chrys Castro and
Alejandro Reyes. A second 8-0 victory came from the second-seeded doubles team of
Blayze O'Keefe and
Martin Munoz against CJ Burk and Nate Hinze.
Rounding out the doubles action,
Pablo Alonso Munoz and
Alex Spalding won 8-1 against Shane Hitchens and Zach Colley at No. 3 doubles.
Castro earned his second win of the day after a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles against Colley, while Spalding moved up to No. 2 singles and beat Casper Nolte, 6-0, 6-0, to clinch the victory.
The matches continued to finish in numerical order throughout.
Mehdi Bichiri won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles and
Alberto Perez notched a 6-2, 6-0 victory at fourth-seeded singles.
Closing out the match,
Jordi Serrano beat Matthew Bryant in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, followed by a 6-0, 6-1 win from
Fernando Turiel to seal the 9-0 win for the Tigers.
Campbellsville's duo of Serrano and Turiel made their season debuts on Saturday.
Mid-South Conference action continues for the Tigers on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET against University of Pikeville on the road.
