Lady Tigers post near perfect sweep of Shawnee State to start Mid-South Conference action

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Campbellsville women's tennis team nearly recorded a clean sweep of Shawnee State University as it dropped just two games over the nine matches combined en route to a 9-0 victory on the road.
 
The Lady Tigers also stretched their winning streak to seven matches to start the season and won their Mid-South Conference opener.
 
Campbellsville won all three doubles contests in 8-0 decisions. Bolor Enkhbayar and Grace Rowe started the the match beating Caitlyn O'Neal and Shelby Hay, followed by Kaede Amano and Majella Nobile taking down Jessica Willard and Kathleen Singer.
 
Concluding doubles action, Bailey Decker and Brooklyn Harris shutout Michaela Garner and Jillian Kelly to give the Lady Tigers a 3-0 advantage.
 
Enkhbayar recorded the first singles win over Willard at No. 2 singles to put Campbellsville ahead 4-0, after a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Of the six singles match, the Lady Tigers won 6-0, 6-0 in five contests.
 
Amano topped Hay at top-seeded singles to clinch the match, followed by Nobile beating O'Neal at No. 3 singles. Rowe and Harris earned straight-set shutouts at No. 4 and No. 5 singles with the match already in hand.
 
Decker capped off the match at No. 6 singles, where she won the first set 6-0 and just missed posting another shutout in the second set, but dropped two games en route to the 6-0, 6-2 victory.
 
The Lady Tigers earned just their first 9-0 win of the season.
 
Campbellsville is back in action on Sunday afternoon against University of Pikeville on the road starting at 1 p.m. ET.
