Three-game win streak snaps; Warner defeats Tiger volleyball in four sets

LAKE WALES, Fla. — The Tigers three-match win streak was short-lived after traveling to Warner University on Friday night and falling in four sets.

Campbellsville drops to 8-9 overall after the 25-14, 15-25, 25-22, 25-20 loss.

Stefan Srentenovic led the Tigers with a career-high 15 kills and was followed by Rafael Cruz with 14. But overall, the Tigers hit just .216 as a team compared to .327 for Warner University (8-2).

The first two sets were identical, but Warner dominated the first and Campbellsville handled the second. The Eagles hit .519 in the opening frame with 16 kills and only two errors to run away with the set, 25-14.

In the second set, CU flipped the script. The Tigers recorded a game-high 17 kills in the second and hit .520 to .043 for Warner.

But the Eagles capitalized in the third and fourth sets for the Mid-South Conference victory.

There were eight ties and six lead changes in the third before the Eagles won 25-22. In the fourth set, Warner took an early lead and never gave it back the rest of the way.

The Eagles had four finish with double figure kills led by Alexander Lazo and Florian Sievers' 11. Jordan Barreto and Manuel Panchame both tallied 10.

The other big number was 22 blocks for Warner – two solo and 20 block assists.
