Withrow and Jarman improve in second round to finish Cumberland Phoenix Invitational

OLD HICKORY, Tenn. — Kylie Withrow improved two strokes to climb up the leaderboard and lead Lady Tiger golf this week at the Cumberland University Phoenix Invitational.
 
Withrow, a junior from Glasgow, Ky., shot 83-81 in the two rounds to finish in a tie for 19th place.
 
Fellow junior Michaela Jarman improved her second round by seven strokes, firing 88-81 and finished tied for 27th.
 
Lastly, Kristen Miller fell off the pace in the second round with scores of 90-98 to sit in solo 57th.
 
William Carey's Aleesha Smith won medalist honors with matching scores of 74-74. She outlasted Trevecca Nazarene's Rachael McMahan by four strokes after she shot 76-76 and Taylor University's Nicole Jung (77-75).
 
Cumberland University's Raquel Romero Valverde led the way for Mid-South Conference programs, as she finished tied for fifth after shooting 76-78.
 
Dalton State won the team title by seven strokes over William Carey. The RoadRunners shot scores of 300-321 to outlast William Carey (309-319).
 
Taylor University placed third, while host Cumberland University was fourth.
 
The Lady Tigers get back on the links on Monday-Tuesday, April 9-10 for the Mid-South Conference Spring Championship at Dale Hollow Golf Course.
