Mahoney leads Tigers to seventh place finish at Mid-South Conference Spring Invite

BURKESVILLE, Ky. — Austin Mahoney improved four strokes in the final round and finished in a tie for 12thto lead Campbellsville men's golf to a seventh-place finish at the Mid-South Conference Spring Invitational. 
 
The Tigers shaved three strokes off their first-round score and shot a 313. Northwestern Ohio won the tournament with a 297-298 team score. The Races out-lasted Cumberland University by seven strokes. 
 
Mahoney shot 78-74 to finish in a tie for 12thwhile Justin Warman fell off the pace by three strokes and shot 75-78 to finish in a tie for 14th
 
Justin Riffle and Halen Stamper both improved as well with scored of 82-81 and 86-80, respectively. Lucas Gover shot 81-85 to finish in a tied for 42nd
 
Lindsey Wilson's Rasmus Lind came from behind to win the individual title with scores of 72-70. Ben Kendrick of University of the Cumberlands led after the first round on Monday but finished second by one stroke, 69-74. 
 
The conference championship, which is the qualifying tournament for the NAIA Championship, uses the combined scores between the fall and spring invitationals for seeding. The MSC Championship is scheduled for April 23-25 at Bowling Green Country Club.
