Women’s Tennis gets back on winning track with 7-2 victory over Marian on Senior Day

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville's women's tennis team concluded its non-conference regular-season slate with a 7-2 victory over Marian University on Tuesday for Senior Day at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.
 
Prior to the match, the Lady Tiger tennis program honored their lone senior in Grace Rowe prior to her playing in her final match at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.
 
Campbellsville fell behind early in doubles competition after Lizzie McClure and Emma Wood won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles over Brooklyn Harris and Bailey Decker. Kaede Amano and Rowe evened the match, 1-1, after grabbing an 8-2 victory at No. 2 doubles against Anne Taylor and Maria Lueken.
 
The duo of Bolor Enkhbayar and Majella Nobile gave the Lady Tigers a 2-1 lead after doubles competition with an 8-4 win at top-seeded doubles against Maria Angela Sunga and Elise Betscher.
 
Shifting into singles competition, Nobile put Campbellsville on top 3-1 after beating Betscher, 6-2, 6-1. Amano continued to roll at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Angela Sunga. The match clinching point came from Enkhbayar at No. 2 singles after beating Lueken in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.
 
Capping off the match, Rowe won 6-0, 6-2 to highlight her Senior Day with a 2-0 mark, while Harris earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles. Taylor grabbed the second point for Marian at No. 6 singles after beating Decker, 6-2, 6-0, as the Lady Tigers won the dual, 7-2.
 
The victory on Tuesday afternoon snapped Campbellsville's two-match skid.
 
Next up, the Lady Tigers travel to Williamsburg, Ky., to take on University of the Cumberlands on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET.
