BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Campbellsville's men's golf team matched its score from round one with a 15-over par 303, put moved down two spots on the team leaderboard at the Mid-South Conference Championship to fifth with a two-round score of 30-over par 606.
Each of the five Tigers played nearly 27 holes of golf on Tuesday after the first round on Monday was suspended and continued on Tuesday morning.
Justin Riffle stayed consistent on Tuesday with a pair of 3-over par 75s to to post a two-round total of 6-over par 150 to sit in 11th overall and lead Campbellsville. Starting on the fifth hole, Riffle notched three birdies on the round with his first coming on the par-four ninth, followed by another on the par-five 18th. He posted back-to-back birdies after recording his final birdie on the par-four first.
Justin Warman moved down the leaderboard after finishing the first round tied for fifth. In the second round, Warman posted an 8-over par 80 and now sits at 9-over par 153 heading into the final round, which is tied for 16th. Warman's only two birdies of the round came at the par-four 12th and then recorded a four on the par-five 18th. Warman has the fourth-most birdies in the field with seven through the first two rounds.
Austin Mahoney was also unable to keep up with his first round pace after he carded a 6-over par 78 in round two to sit tied for 16th with a 9-over par 153. The freshman got off to a strong start with a birdie on the first hole at No. 4, but only went under par once over the remainder of the round on the par-four 10th.
Halen Stamper had the lowest round on the team in the second round after firing an even-par 72 during the round. Stamper had three birdies on the round and only shot over par three times in one round. After going 1-over par on his round with one hole remaining, Stamper birdied out on the par-four sixth hole to end his round. However, after posting 12-over par 84 in the first round, Stamper is tied for 21st with a 12-over par 156.
Pierce Dahl rounded out the Tigers in the second round on Tuesday afternoon with an 18-hole score of 6-over par 78. Dahl is now tied for 25th in the field with a score of 6-over par 158. The lone birdie in round two for Dahl came on hole No. 17 with a three on the par-four.
In the team race, Cumberland University leads the way with a total of 11-over par 587, which was highlighted by an even-par 288 in the second round on Tuesday. University of the Cumberlands is just behind in second place with a two-round total of 18-over par 594, followed by Georgetown College – who moved from fifth to third – with a 27-over par 603.
Cumberlands' Ben Kendrick has a four-shot lead heading into the final round of the tournament with an 8-under par 136. Kendrick posted a pair of 4-under par 68s and he ended the day shooting eagle-birdie-birdie-birdie-birdie to go from 1-over par to 4-under par to end the second round. Cumberland's Garrett Daniel and Lindsey Wilson College's Callum Blinkhorn are tied for second at 4-under par 140.
Round two of the tournament begins at 9 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
Pierce Dahl is the first Tiger to tee off at 9:27 p.m. ET on the 10th tee at the Bowling Green Country Club.
