Tiger golf sits in seventh after opening round of Mid-South Conference Spring Invitational

BURKESVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville men's golf started the Mid-South Conference Spring Invitational with a team score of 316 and sits in seventh place after round one at Dale Hollow State Park.

The Tigers are only 19 strokes out of first place, which is led by Northwestern Ohio (297). Lindsey Wilson is the only other team in the field that shot in the 200s with a score of 299 – two strokes off the lead.

University of the Cumberlands is third (305), while Georgetown College is fourth (306), Cumberland University is fifth (309) and Cardinal Stritch is sixth (314).

Sophomore Justin Warman once again led the Tigers with an opening round three-over 75 to be tied for seventh. Freshman Austin Mahoney was right behind with a five-over 78 and is tied for 19^th.

Lucas Gover, Justin Riffle and Halen Stamper round out the Tigers' Top 5. Gover is tied for 30^thwith an opening round 81, while Riffle is tied for 37^thafter an 82 and Stamper is tied for 47^thwith an 86.

Leading the field is former MSC champion Ben Kendrick with an opening round three-under 69. He was followed by Northwestern Ohio's Reece Blair's 72, while Lindsey Wilson has a pair of players in the Top 5 – Rasmus Lind (72) and Callum Blonkhorn (73).

The second round of the MSC Spring Invitational is scheduled for Tuesday morning at Dale Hollow. The conference championship, which is the qualifying tournament for the NAIA Championship, uses the combined scores between the fall and spring invitationals for seeding. The MSC Championship is scheduled for April 23-25 at Bowling Green Country Club.
