Lady Tiger soccer has quick start and Hall secures first-career hat trick in 10-0 rout of Bluefield

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The first home event of the 2018-19 season for Campbellsville University athletics went in favor of the Tigers tonight as CU women's soccer dominated the pitch against Bluefield College, 10-0. 
 
Campbellsville (2-0) out-shot Bluefield (0-1) 33-1 with 21 of those being on frame. The Rams' only shot of the night came in the final five minutes off the foot of Cynthia Brown. 
 
The double-figure win is the first since 2013 when CU won 11-0 over University of the Cumberlands and 10-0 over University of Pikeville. 
 
CU's Molly Hall found the net three times for a hat trick – all of which came in the second half. Hall scored just 1:37 into the second half off an assist from Milena Derougeur and then scored on a free kick just 50 seconds later to put CU ahead 6-0 at that point. 
 
Hall later scored in the 62ndminute for his first-career hat trick. 
 
Rachel Blumfeldt also had a big night with a goal and two assists for four points. In addition, Lakin Walls found the back of the net twice tonight on three total shots. 
 
In addition, Emma Nilsson had a great home-opener as well with a goal and assist. Her assist was a beauty in the 36thminute on a one-touch pass to Hope Sanders for her second score of the year. 
 
With the game well in hand, Shannon Ramey and Kiersten Clukey scored their first goals of the season. Ramey navigated through defenders in the 70thminute, while Clukey scored from 30 yards out in the 75thto give Campbellsville the 10-0 lead. 
 
The Lady Tigers will now have five days to prepare for Bethel University as the Wildcats come to Finley Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 29thwith kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
