Lady Tiger volleyball looks to stay hot as they travel to the Siena Heights Invitational

ADRIAN, Mich. – Following a 3-1 weekend at the Mid-South Conference Crossover Challenge the Lady Tiger volleyball looks to stay hot at the Siena Heights Invitational. None of the Lady Tiger's four matches will have live coverage this weekend.
 
CU Starts Strong Under Snyder
  • The Lady Tigers posted a 3-1 record over the weekend at the MSC
    Crossover Challenge from August 24-25.
  • They defeated the No. 22 ranked Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats to open the season in four sets. They followed that up with a 3-1 win over Reinhardt University and then in a rematch of the 2017 NAIA Opening Round they also defeated Texas Wesleyan by a 3-1 score.
 Tiger CLAWZ
  • Campbellsville has a .169 attacking percentage through the first four
    contests of the season, it has 209 total kills and averages 12.3 kills per set.
  • The Lady Tigers have 32 total blocks this season. They average 1.9 per set.
  • True Freshman Paige Merrick has come on strong to start her collegiate career. She posted double-doubles in three of the four contests this
    weekend. Overall she averages 9.53 assists per set and 2.82 digs per set.
  • Her very first collegiate match she finished with 36 assists and 15 digs. In the matches vs. Reinhardt and Point she finished with 46 and 47 assists.
  • Merrick currently sits in second place in the MSC in assists per set.
  • The Lady Tigers have three players averaging 2.71 or more kills per set as Julia Fonseca has 46 kills for 2.71, Maria Coelho has 49 for 2.88 per set and Kaite Johnson leads the way with 57 kills for 3.35 per set.
  • All three are in the top 11 of the MSC rankings in kills per set as Johnson is fourth, Coelho is ninth and Fonseca is ranked 11.
  • Fonseca leads the team in blocks at 1.00 per set; this also is tied-third in the MSC rankings.
  • Three players average over 3.00 digs per set, Savannah Moss averages 3.07, Johnson averages 3.18 and Jaimie Thompson averages 4.56 per set. All three are in the top 10 in the MSC.
 Scouting St. Francis
  • St. Francis is currently 1-4 this season and has lost four straight matches. Most recently the Saints fell to Clarke University in five sets.
  • As a team the Saints have a .080 attacking percentage and average 9.4 kills per set.
  • Brooklyn Withey leads the way with 1.9 kills per set this season as well as leading the way in total blocks with 15. She has four block solos and has been a part of 11 block assists.
  • Katie Szakacs leads the way with 7.0 digs per set and also has six aces to lead the team.
  • Darian Baldwin leads the Saints in assists as she averages 3.9 per set.
 Scouting Rochester
  • Rochester is off to an 0-4 start this season. Most recently the Warriors fell to Florida National University at the Saint Thomas University Tournament. They have won two sets all season.
  • As a team the Warriors have a .154 attacking percentage and average 10.4 kills per set.
  • Lauren Wilson leads the team in kills per set at 3.21 and 45 total kills and 43 digs.
  • Jaelynn Block leads the Warriors in blocks with eight (two solo and six assists).
  • Rochester is led by Brooke Richards in assists as she has 44 on the season.
 Scouting Robert Morris
  • Robert Morris is 5-3 this season and have won five straight matches. The Eagles have defeated Stephens College (3-0), Harris-Stowe State University (3-0) and Lincoln Christian University (3-1) in the last three days.
  • The Eagles have posted a .130 attacking percentage and have 54 total aces as a team.
  • Antonia Cappas leads the Eagles with 3.00 kills per set, Hailey Welch has the most total kills with 66.
  • Grace Konovodof leads the team with 8.56 assists per set while Lindsey Veersma averages 5.58 digs per set.
  • Kaila Beckwith leads the Lady Eagles in blocks with 18.
 Scouting Huntington
  • Huntington is coming off back-to-back losses and sits at 2-3 on the season. Each of its last two matches have gone to five sets played.
  • The Foresters as a team have a .208 attacking percentage this season and 38 aces.
  • Taelor Schultheis leads the Foresters with 2.81 kills per set.
  • Jenna Tacosik leads the way with 9.00 assits per set while Ariene Butler leads in digs per set at 3.43.
  • Lauren Cresse has been the most productive front line player as she has 12 total blocks this season.
