Women's Golf Campbellsville Athletics

Jarman fires 75 and is tied for second; Lady Tiger golf is nine strokes off the lead at IWU Invite

MARION, Ind. — Senior Michaela Jarman fired a three-over 75 to lead Campbellsville women's golf in the opening round of the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational. 
 
The Lady Tigers sit in fourth place by only nine strokes behind Taylor University. Campbellsville shot a team total of 323, while the Trojans are ahead at 314. 
 
Jarman, a senior from Danville, Ky., led CU's Top 5 with a 75 but is six strokes off the lead by University of St. Francis' Marissa Singer. Singer fired a three-under 69 to lead Jarman and Marguaz Catafort-Silva from Olivet Nazarene. 
 
Fellow senior Kylie Withrow fired a six-over 78 and is tied for eighth place. A pair of underclassmen are tied for 36th. Madison Ferrie and Kristen Miller both shot an 85. 
 
Freshmen Maddie Coffey and Cortney Withrow were in the 90s. Coffey is tied for 68thafter a 93 and Withrow is tied for 74thafter a first-round 96. 
 
After Taylor University, host Indiana Wesleyan and St. Francis are tied for second with matching 315s in the first round. The Lady Tigers trail by eight strokes, while Olivet Nazarene is fifth with a team score of 326.
