GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Weather was the cause for a shortened Georgetown College Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, as Campbellsville men's golf finished sixth in the 27-hole event.
The two-day tournament was scheduled for Monday and Tuesday but the course was unplayable on Monday forcing the event to be 36 holes on Tuesday. After a late start, the tournament was shortened to 27 holes.
After Round 1, the Tigers were sitting in eighth place with a score of 304. But Campbellsville jumped two spots on the leaderboard by shooting even-par in the final nine holes on Tuesday.
Freshman
Landon Connor shot a one-over 73 in the opening round, while fellow freshman
Connor Wilson was right behind with a 76.
Austin Mahoney sat in a tie for 31
stwith an opening round 77, while
Jon Brewington shot a 78. Just Warman, the Tigers No. 1, returned to his home but fell victim to a first-round 79.
Seth Bohl was playing as an individual in the opening round and finished with a three-over 75 to sit in a tie for 23rd.
In the final nine holes, Mahoney was leading the pack with Brewington with a score of one-under. Warman was even par, while Wilson dropped to three-over along with fellow freshman Landon Conner.
Bohl was four-over in the final nine holes and finished in a tie for 25th overall.
Conner led the way and finished tied for 10
th, while Mahoney and Brewington were right behind by finishing tied for 14

th, respectively.
Warman climbed 14 spots in the final nine holes to finish in a tie for 25
thwith Wilson.
The Tigers jumped two spots to finish in a tie for sixth after shooting even on the final nine holes. Cumberland University won the event by three strokes over University of the Cumberlands, 437 to 440.
Georgetown finished in third, while Asbury was fourth and Midway was fifth.
The Tigers get back underway next week in the NCCAA Mid-East Regional in Chattanooga, Tenn. On Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 24-25.
