Taylor University uses efficiency to out-run Lady Tigers on Friday night

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Taylor University was out-shot by Campbellsville in a big way, 17-6, but the Trojans had five of their six shots on goal and defeated the Lady Tigers, 3-0. 
 
Taylor was very efficient on the night with its offense and scored late in the first period to lead 1-0. They never would falter the rest of the way.  
 
The Trojans picked up insurance goals in the 54thand 74thminutes, respectively. Kate Kortenhoeven netter the first score after she broke away to bury a shot from 15-yards out. 
 
Hannah Davis and Ali Clodgo both scored in the second half. Davis finished off a corner kick, while Clodgo finished the Lady Tigers off in the 74thoff a rebounded shot by Davis. 
 
Katelyn Young had a busy night in goal as she finished with three saves. Her counterpart, Megan Williams, had four saves. 
 
The Lady Tigers were led by Lakin Walls with six shots, while Emma Nilsson had three, Rachel McWilliams, Molly Hall and Hope Sanders had two. 
 
The Lady Tigers now will have five days to prepare for conference play as CU travels to Lindsey Wilson College on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
