CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – Campbellsville women's soccer controlled play Saturday afternoon against the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers as the Lady Tigers dominated their way to a 4-0 win in Circleville, Ohio.
Junior forward
Lakin Walls opened the scoring in the first half for CU scoring in the 14
th minute with an assist coming from
Shannon Ramey and the Lady Tigers carried that lead into halftime. Five minutes into the second half, it was Walls again scoring in the 56
th minute with the assist coming from
Rachel McWilliams.
Campbellsville added on later in the second half with an unassisted goal from
Rachel Blumfeldt in the 63
rd minute and a goal from
Ally Furnish assisted by
Hope Sanders in the 89
th minute to seal the victory.
A deeper look into the box score showed the true dominance from the Lady Tigers as they outshot OCU 20-4 putting 10 on goal to only two shots that were put on the CU net.
Campbellsville's shutout was a combined effort as
Katelyn Young got the start and made the only two saves but
Sydney Pinkham came in as a sub in the second half and played 23 minutes to finish the game.
Lady Tiger soccer will now begin a stretch of six-straight Mid-South Conference games beginning at home next Tuesday, as they will host Shawnee State University at Finley Stadium.
