Warman rallies to finish runner-up, Tigers claim third straight tournament win at Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — For the third time this season, Campbellsville University men's golf has won a tournament. The Tigers won the Georgetown College Fall Invitational at Cherry Blossom and ran away with the title by 18 strokes.

Campbellsville, which is 3-for-3 on tournament wins this season, shot 279-288 overall through the two-round championship to beat Thomas More University and Lincoln Memorial by 18 strokes. The three wins sits tied for second in the record books for most victories in a season (six wins for 2007-08 team).

Senior Justin Warman made a late charge on Tuesday and matched his career-low with a six-under 66 but finished one stroke behind Thomas More's Kyle Alexander (68, 70).

But after Warman it was three straight Tigers on the leaderboard. Jonathan Brewington fired 69-73 to finish in solo third, while Landon Conner dropped off the pace a little with scores of 68-75 to finish tied for fourth with teammate Austin Mahoney (69-74).

Warman, Brewington, Conner and Mahoney all finished with All-Tournament team honors with their Top 5 finish.

The last Tiger in the Top 5 to score was freshman Layton Hord with rounds of 74 and 77.

With the win, the Tigers have now won the Lindsey Wilson College Fall Kickoff, the NCCAA Mid-East Regional and the Georgetown College Invite. CU will now head into the Mid-South Conference Fall Championship at Gibson Bay in Richmond, Ky. for their biggest test yet starting on Monday, Oct. 7.
