Lady Tiger golf sits in second place at NCCAA Championship after round one

PALM COAST, Fla. — The 2019 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Women's Golf Championship got underway on Monday and Campbellsville University is sitting nine strokes behind the leaders Grace College.

The Lady Tigers shot a first round 328 and the Lancers shot 319 as a team to lead CU. Campbellsville is just one stroke ahead the third-place sitting team from Erskine College as Anna Parramore leads the entire field after firing a first-round 74.

Gracie Parrott and April Houk had solid rounds on Monday to sit in a tie for fourth place. Parrott started two birdies in her first three holes but also fell victim to a pair of bogeys to sit at even par. But on the par-five sixth hole, Parrott carded her first-career eagle to get back to red numbers.

The final 12 holes weren't as nice, though, falling back eight strokes and finishing the day at six-over par.

Houk also had a pair of birdies on her first nine holes but a double and three bogeys on the back nine pushed her back to six-over par as well.

Abigail Coffey, Kendall Mills and Cortney Withrow all struggled in their first round with scores of 86, 86, 90, respectively.

As a team, the Lady Tigers are sitting pretty to make the cut after Tuesday's second round.
