Walls picks up a pair of goals as the Lady Tigers record a 5-0 win in their MSC home opener

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Saturday afternoon, the Lady Tigers opened up the home portion of their conference schedule, defeating Shawnee State 5-0.
 
On the day, Lakin Walls got the Lady Tigers going as she recorded goals in the 11th and 24th minutes to give CU an early 2-0 lead. On her first attack, Walls was able to gather the ball on the sideline before making a quick move around the defender and placing the ball in the far post for her third goal in as many matches.
 
Walls was then able to record another goal on a throw in from Andrea Brizuela. Brizuela tossed the ball to Shannon Ramey before Ramey made a quick touch and Walls was able to finish with a ball placed under the crossbar.
 
In the 42nd minute, Milena Derougeur put her name in the scoring column as she was able to drift into space and loft a 25-yard shot over the Bears keeper, marking her first goal of the season.
 
Following this goal, the Lady Tigers carried a 3-0 lead into the half.
 
Heading into the second half, the Lady Tigers continued to fire off shots, with intentions to put their lead out of reach for Shawnee State. However, the Tigers were unsuccessful until Sangmin Cha headed a goal into the back of the net in the 64th minute.
 
Campbellsville then quickly picked up another goal as Cha as able to record an assist to Jessie Bryson in the 65th, extending the Lady Tiger lead to 5-0.
 
CU continued to fire off shots for the remainder of the half, but the 5-0 lead carried the Lady Tigers to their ninth straight win.
 
This Lady Tiger victory improves the Campbellsville record to 9-1, while sitting 2-0 inside MSC play.
 
CU will return to action on Wednesday, October 16th at they visit the University of the Cumberlands for a 5 p.m. ET kickoff.
