Tigers improve on Day 2, finish tied for third at Mid-South Conference Fall Championship

RICHMOND, Ky. — Campbellsville men's golf improved nine strokes in the second round of the Mid-South Conference Fall Championship to finish in a tied for third place at Gibson Bay.

The Tigers shot 307-298 for the two-day tournament and rallied on Tuesday after struggling in wet conditions during Monday's round. CU tied University of the Cumberlands with a two-day total of 605, while Cumberland University (588) won the tournament by five strokes over Lindsey Wilson (593).

Individually, the Tigers were led by senior Justin Warman. The Georgetown, Ky. native shot 77-73 over the two days and improved nine positions on the leaderboard.

Sophomore Landon Conner finished right behind Warman by one stroke with scores of 77-74 to place tied for 14^th. Austin Mahoney fired 77-75 to be tied for 16^th, while Layton Hord shot 80-76 and finished tied for 24^th.

Jonathan Brewington rounded out the Top 5 with scores of 76-82 and dropped off the pace to tied for 34^th.

Campbellsville also had a pair of individuals compete in the field. Seth Bohl finished tied for 24^th with scores of 77-79 and Trevor Caudill shot 83-81 and placed tied for 44^th.

Lindsey Wilson's Callum Blinkhorn won individual medalist honors with scores of 71-72. He out-paced Cumberland University's Isaac Walker by one stroke and Thomas More's Zach Baynum by two shots.

CU will now be the No. 3 seed in the spring edition of the Mid-South Conference Tournament. Both the fall and spring tournaments seed players and teams for the Mid-South Conference Championship in late April and also tally scores for All-Conference, Freshman of the Year and Golfer of the Year awards.

The final tournament of the fall is on the horizon for Campbellsville as the Tigers travel to Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida for the NCCAA Championship on Oct. 21-23.
