Tigers begin postseason run on Saturday, matching up with Georgetown

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – On Saturday the Tigers will begin their championship quest with a battle of the Tigers in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament at 3:30 p.m. ET at Warren East High School in Bowling Green, Ky.
 
Live stream will be provided by the Mid-South Conference for all games in the MSC Tournament.
 
PATH TO A CHAMPIONSHIP
  • With a 5-3 MSC record, CU earned the fourth seed in the tournament as they will match up with the fifth seeded Georgetown to open postseason play.
  • The winner of this match will move on the semifinal round on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET, where they will play with winner of Life and Pikeville.
  • The championship with then take place on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2:30 p.m. ET.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • In the CU's regular season finale, they hosted Cumberland University where they took a 2-0 win to close the season.
  • A pair of first half goals from Connor Pugh led Campbellsville to their shutout win.
  • The Tiger defense only allowed one shot on goal in route to their shutout.
 
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
  • Georgetown enters this match with a 14-4 record, going 4-4 inside MSC play.
  • GC has been an offensive force throughout the regular season as they rank in the top six in shots on goal per game (10.78), assists per game (3.61), assists (65), goals per game (5.39), and goals (97).
  • Individually, GC is led by Luca Zellmann and Sebastian Bocaz Canales on the offensive end.
  • Zellmann leads the NAIA in total points (53), while ranking second in goals per game (1.41), goals (24), and third in points per game (3.12).
  • Canales is ranked second in the NAIA in points (52), as he also is ranked fourth in points per game (3.06) and assists (14).
 
HISTORY VERSUS GEORGETOWN
  • Campbellsville holds a 15-2-1 record against Georgetown since 2006.
  • In their meeting earlier this season, Campbellsville shutout GC while using a 51stminute goal from Connor Pugh for the 1-0 victory.
 
MSC TOURNAMENT HISTORY
  • Last season, Lindsey Wilson won the Mid-South Conference tournament as they defeated Cumberland University 2-1.
  • Campbellsville has one conference championship to their name as they took Lindsey Wilson to PKs in 2016, outshooting them 5-3.
 
With a win, CU will be back in action on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET where they will meet the winner of Life University and Pikeville.
