CAMBPBELLSVIE, Ky. – The Lady Tigers will look to close out the regular season portion of their schedule on Friday as they will visit Georgetown College at 7 p.m. ET.
LAST TIME OUT
- In CU's last match, they hosted the Thomas More Saints for their final match in the Gosser Gymnasium of 2019.
- The Saints were able to top CU in straight sets, 25-20, 25-17, 25-22.
- The Lady Tigers were led by Sonia Flendrich and Yelyzaveta Sharkova on the attack.
- Overall the Saints used a .245 hitting percentage compared to CU's ,136 to earn the sweep.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
- The Tigers of Georgetown enters Friday's regular season finale with a 17-12 overall record and 10-5 record in MSC play.
- Defensively, GC has been led by McKala Bozman to become one of the premiere frontline defenses in the country.
- Bozman's 1.19 blocks per game ranks her 14thin the NAIA as she leads the Tigers to a 15thoverall ranking in blocks per game as a team.
- On the offensive side, the trio of Madison Mudd, Sarah Snyder, and Ashton Meckle lead Georgetown as they each have north of 220 kills on the season.
HISTORY WITH GC
- Since 2005, this matchup has favored the Tigers of Georgetown as CU holds an 8-33 record against them.
- In their previous match this season, GC swept Campbellsville 25-19, 27-25, 25-19.
- For CU, in the match Flendrich and Sutton Mason were able to record seven kills apiece to lead the Lady Tigers.
WHERE CU STANDS HEADING INTO THE MSC TOURNEY
- Campbellsville is currently in a tie with Shawnee State for seventh place in the overall seeding for MSC standings.
- However, with two losses to the Bears, a tie in the standings gives Shawnee State the advantage.
- If CU loses, they will matchup with the Pikeville Bears for a play-in match for the MSC tournament, where the winner will face Lindsey Wilson in the opening round.
- If the Lady Tigers win, with a Shawnee State loss against Cumberland University on Saturday, the Lady Tigers would meet Thomas More for the opening round.
Following this match, the Lady Tigers will enter postseason play with the Mid-South Conference Tournament next week in Bowling Green, Ky.
