Flurry of goals punch Tigers ticket to MSC Semifinal match on Sunday vs. No. 1-seeded Life University

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Tigers didn't need more than 35 seconds to get on top and stay in their opening round of the Mid-South Conference quarterfinal match against rival Georgetown College leading to a 4-2 win.

Connor Pugh didn't waste any time scoring in the first minute after finishing a pass from Kalvin Semedo – the seven goal and fourth assist for the Tiger duo.

In the 25th minute, it was Azad Illiozer finding Tom Edge extending the Tigers lead to 2-0. Edge delivered a rocket off the right foot that went to left post.

That's where they stood at halftime as Campbellsville absolutely dominated possession in the first 45 minutes. The Tigers finished with seven shots – six on goal – and kept Georgetown's Jacob Roberts busy in the first frame.

The third score of the night came off the foot of Illiozer. He came up with a nice slide tackle on defense and converted in transition from 30 yards out to put CU ahead, 3-0, in the 53rd minute.

The fourth came just 10 minutes after in the 63rd as Bailey Greenless found the back of the net – after a nice touch pass from the right side by Eleder Goikoetxea

Georgetown did get on the board late in the second half as Owen Stott fell victim to a pair of goals. Logan Sparks capitalized on a Luca Zellmann pass and Sebastian Bocaz Canales was fouled at the top of the box before converting on a free kick.

Campbellsville will now place the regular season champions and No. 1-seed Life University on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. ET at Warren East High School in Bowling Green. The Running Eagles took down the eight-seeded UPIKE Bears, 3-0, in the quarterfinal match earlier on Saturday afternoon.

In the regular season matchup, the Tigers lost a heartbreaker in overtime, 2-1, in Marietta, Georgia. Fans can check out the Mid-South Conference Tournament Page linked above for more info on the men's soccer tournament.
