Lady Tigers ink eight-year varsity starter for Webster County, Hadlee Carter, for 2020-21

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Head coach Shannon Wathen has totaled the Lady Tiger softball recruiting class to six with the addition of four recent signees for 2020-21.

The second of four signees to be announced this week is Hadlee Carter.

Carter, from Webster County High School, will finish her career as an eight-year varsity starter. In the last four seasons, Carter has helped lead the Lady Trojans to an 88-43-2 record and 43-14 inside 2^nd Region play.

"I chose CU because it felt like home," said Carter. "The small campus and community atmosphere reminded me a lot of my hometown. The softball coaching staff made me feel at ease and I really like the team. After my overnight visit, I knew CU was the place for me."

In her high school career, Carter has hit .354 with an OBP of .428 and .469 slugging percentage. She also hit over .440 in summer ball with nine stolen bases.

Last season, Carter earned All-District honors for the first time after winning the 6^th District title but falling in the second round of the regional tournament.

Carter joins Central Hardin's Bailey Richardson, Macon County's Morgan Carter, and Allen-County Scottsville's Madi Gregory. Coach Wathen has signed two others for 2020-21 and those will be announced throughout the next two weeks.
