KANSAS CITY, Mo. — For the second-consecutive season, a member of the Campbellsville University football team was selected to the NAIA All-America as senior Darius Moore earned Honorable Mention, the NAIA announced Thursday.
 
Moore, a linebacker from Atilla, Ala., was the Tigers' leading tackler in 2019 and the sixth leading tackler in the NAIA during the regular season with 114 tackles. Moore also finished as the NAIA's leader in tackles for a loss with 27 on the season with both tackling stats finishing as career-highs in a season for the senior. He earned one Mid-South Conference Bluegrass weekly honor this season after his 15-tackle performance on Sept. 21 in CU's lone win of 2019 against Union College.
 
His solo tackles alone would have been good enough for third on the team as he had more tackles on his own than all but one of the rest of the Tigers on defense had during the 2019 season. In every game but two this season, Moore was the team's leading tackler in the game with a pair of 16-tackle games, a career-high for Moore.
 
Moore finished his Campbellsville career with 278 total tackles with his 114 total in 2019 by far his highest season total in his four years in Campbellsville. He also finished with 43 tackles for a loss with his 27 this season, more than all three other seasons combined.
 
This is the second-straight year for the Tigers to have a player in the Honorable Mention category after wide receiver Kendon Young was selected last season. Prior to 2018, the last All-America selection for Campbellsville in the NAIA was in 2016 with both Bradley Bates and Tyus Alcorn earn the honor.
