No. 9 Tigers dominate in spring opener over Thomas More Saints, 9-0

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — The ninth-ranked Campbellsville Tigers dominated in their spring opener over Thomas More University with a 9-0 win. 
 
Campbellsville won all six singles matches in straight sets and allowed a combined 13 points in doubles to roll past the Saints. 
 
In doubles, the Tigers took a 3-0 lead in the dual. Will True and Adrian Sabrojo earned an 8-3 win over Jared Haught and Jeffrey Schenk. At No. 2-seeded doubles Blayze O'Keefe and Cesar Castro earned a 9-7 win and Cristian Perez and Matus Sevcik won 8-3. 
 
In singles, it was a dominating performance for CU. No. 1-seeded Will True won 6-3, 6-2 over Derrick Kwok. At No. 2, O'Keefe won 6-1, 6-1 and at No. 3 Sabrojo won 6-0, 6-3 to seal the dual win. 
 
Cristian Perez swept Jared Haught in straight sets at No. 4-seeded singles, while Matus Sevcik also swept Jaret Fidler. 
 
Cesar Castro ended the night with a 6-1, 6-0 win. 
 
Campbellsville will now have a week to prepare for a pair of matches against Brescia and Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, Feb. 9 in Owensboro, Ky.
