Lady Tigers need one win to clinch MSC but are hungry for more to end regular season

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Looking for regular season championship No. 20 (KIAC & MSC), Lady Tiger Basketball needs only one win in the final three games of the regular season to clinch the title. But that isn't the end goal for Campbellsville.

The Lady Tigers are seeking to go perfect inside conference play for the first time since 2010 and third time since 1997. Campbellsville has its toughest test coming up the next three games as well. The Lady Tigers host two big rivals in Georgetown College and Shawnee State the next two Thursdays before traveling to Pikeville to end the regular season next Saturday.

First up, Campbellsville and Georgetown meet on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. ET in the Powell Athletic Center. Coverage begins on the CU Sports Network starting at 5:45.

Campbellsville (25-2, 11-0 MSC) vs. Georgetown (20-6, 5-6 MSC)
  • CU and GC are meeting for the 102nd time in history, with CU leading the series 76-25.
  • CU is 20-7 in Ginger Colvin's tenure overall, 5-5 while playing at home and 12-2 while playing at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.
  • Campbellsville hasn't lost at Georgetown since the 2011 season, 65-52.
  • Colvin also rallies her troops when it matters most in postseason, as CU is a perfect 3-0 in MSC tournaments against GC.

  • In the series, CU is out-scoring Georgetown 76.7 - 65.8 points per game.

Gregory's Triple Double:
  • For the second straight week and third time this year, Campbellsville's Savannah Gregory was named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week.
  • Gregory, a redshirt sophomore from Scottsville, Ky., averaged 15.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and six steals per game during a 2-0 week for the Lady Tigers.
  • She scored 14 points and added four rebounds and three assists in an 83-48 win over University of the Cumberlands.

  • She finished the week shooting 63.6 percent from the field and 84.2 percent from the foul line (16-for-19). Gregory's 110 steals ranks second in the NAIA.
  • It was the first triple-double in Lady Tiger basketball history since Whitney Ballinger did so on March 17, 2010 against LSU-Shreveport in the NAIA Tournament - the day after being named the NAIA Player of the Year. And she did that in 36 minutes of play.
