Men's golf struggles to open spring season at Georgetown College Invitational

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — It wasn't the start Tiger golf wanted to its spring season as Campbellsville finished in eighth place at the Georgetown College Invitational this week.
 
The Tigers finished at 55-over par and were behind Webber International by 12 strokes. Point University won the event with a combined two-over and dominated the field. 
 
Individually, the Tigers were led by freshman Jon Brewington's 11-over. He finished with a three-over 75 on Day 1 but dropped off the pace today with an eight-over 80. Brewington finished in 23rdplace. 
 
Landon Connor was tied for 32ndafter shooting 78-79 and Justin Warman was in solo 26thafter matching rounds of 79. 
 
Rounding out the individual scores in 43rdplace is Austin Mahoney (82-81) and in 45thMark Murphy (88-79). 
 
Point University's Joao Megalhaes shot 69-72 to finish three-under for the tournament to claim medalist honors.

The Tigers have more than a month now to prepare for the Cumberland University Spring Invitational at Five Oaks Golf and CC in Lebanon, Tenn. On April 1-2.
