CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville men's basketball will wrap up their regular season schedule Saturday afternoon as they travel to Pikeville, Ky. to face No. 11 University of Pikeville.
The Tigers are coming off of a 91-83 senior night win on Thursday at the Powell Athletic Center over Shawnee State. CU was powered behind an outstanding individual performance from
Andrew Smith who put up 26 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and 4 blocks to lead the Tigers in all categories in the game.
The Bears lost their game Thursday night on the road at No. 4 Georgetown by a 78-72 final. Jayvian Delacruz is still leading the Mid-South Conference in scoring with his 21.5 points per game average in 28 games this season, ahead of two Tigers in
Stephaun Adams and
Hagen Tyler in second and third.
With CU's win, Pikeville's loss along with wins from University of the Cumberlands and Life University on Thursday, there are many tying scenarios at play for Mid-South Conference Tournament seeding.
Certain results on Saturday can result in at least seven different tying scenarios involving Campbellsville that could place them anywhere between the second or fifth seed.
The Tigers will earn the second seed in the conference tournament with a win over Pikeville and losses by Life and Cumberlands. The most frequent result among the scenarios would be a fifth place finish in the conference, which will be locked in if CU loses and could also happen in a win.
After their game in Pikeville on Saturday, CU will come back to Campbellsville to get ready to go right back to Pikeville next weekend for the conference tournament next weekend.
