Lady Tiger softball set to host Kentucky Christian for Senior Weekend at Hord Field

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Senior Weekend is already here for Lady Tiger softball as Kentucky Christian University comes into town for the second-to-last home series of the year. 
 
The Lady Tigers and Knights are scheduled for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. ET at Hord Field and Veterans Memorial Park. Fans can tune in on the CU Sports Network for coverage. 
 
No. 14 Campbellsville enters with a 23-6 record and is 9-3 inside the Mid-South Conference. The Lady Tigers have won four of their last six games but dropped a game at the University of Pikeville last Saturday and lost a rivalry matchup with Georgetown on Wednesday. 
 
Kentucky Christian boasts a 22-15 record and is 4-8 in conference play. The Knights swept Shawnee State on Tuesday afternoon and outscored the Bears 7-1 in the doubleheader. 
 

Mid-South Conference Standings:
  • Lindsey Wilson leads the MSC with a 12-0 record and are 33-1 overall. 
  • Campbellsville is tied with University of the Cumberlands with nine wins. The Lady Tigers are currently second at 9-3, while UC is 9-5 and third. 
  • Georgetown College is currently fourth at 5-7, while University of Pikeville is fifth at 5-9. 
  • Shawnee State and Kentucky Christian are tied for sixth (4-8), while Cumberland University is eighth (4-12). 
Senior Day Activities:
  • Senior Day for Morgan Gailor and Kelly Wheeler will take place before Saturday's doubleheader at 11:50 a.m. ET. The ceremony will also air on the CU Sports Network.
Kelly Wheeler caps career at CU:
  • Wheeler, a senior from Louisville, Ky., has played in a total of 56 games at CU and has a career batting average of .163. 
  • Wheeler drove in a season-high 10 runs last season and finished with 10 hits on the year. 
Gailor continues her solid career:
  • Gailor, also from Louisville, has seen action in 91 games during her career and has an overall record of 42-17 in the circle. 
  • Gailor picked up a season-high 17 wins last season while also tallying a career-low ERA of 1.76. Her career ERA is currently sitting at 2.43. 
  • The 1.76 ERA last season was second in the MSC behind her teammate Neely Quint (1.52), while her opponent batting average was second in the conference at .222.
  • The 17 wins was third in the conference. 
  • In her career, she's been named a Second-Team All-MSC pitcher twice (sophomore and junior).
Hitting Streaks Snapped:
  • A trio of hitting streaks were snapped against Georgetown College in the finale on Wednesday evening. 
  • Tori Humphrey held the longest streak of the season at 13 games, while Mia Aldridge (10) and Riley Hurst (7) both had streaks end. 
Payton Blades finding groove at leadoff:
  • The freshman from Apollo High School has settled into her leadoff role for CU and is the lone Lady Tigers to play all 29 games so far in the same spot in the batting order. 
  • Blades has the longest current hitting streak at 11 games. 
  • In the 11-game streak, Blades is hitting .465 with 11 RBI and three home runs. 
  • Before the streak she was hitting .259 but has upped that to .347.
