Women’s bowling season ends after fourth round finish at NAIA Bowling Invitational Championships

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Lady Tiger bowling team finished their season with one win and two losses in the double elimination bracket of the NAIA Invitational Championships last Friday.

CU finished the seeding portion of the tournament at 10th out of 12 teams with a six Baker Set score of 4171 of the six four game sets. That result matched the Lady Tigers up against the No. 7 seed in University of St. Francis (Ill.) where the Fighting Saints won the match 3-0 to knock CU in the elimination bracket.

Campbellsville had to wait until the 11:45 a.m. time slot for more teams to reach the elimination bracket when they were eventually matched up against Concordia University. The Lady Tigers kept their national championship hopes alive with a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals moving onto the fourth round against Midland University.

For the second-straight match, CU went to a deciding fifth set but this time they came up just short dropping the match 3-2 to the Warriors. The eventual champions SCAD Savannah won both the men's and women's brackets as their women's team came out of the elimination bracket to beat No. 1 seed Indiana Tech twice in the final rounds to win.

That would end the Lady Tigers' season that saw Campbellsville win one tournament in the Green River Classic, earn a third place as a team at the Mid-South Conference Championship and had senior Katlyn Hoeh win the individual MSC Championship.
