No. 13 Lindsey Wilson rallies in singles to end Tigers run in MSC Semifinal

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Campbellsville men's tennis saw their run at a Mid-South Conference Tournament title come to an end last night at the Owensboro Tennis Complex at the hands of No. 13 Lindsey Wilson College, 5-3. 
 
The Tigers led 2-1 after doubles but only could muster one singles win – which came at No. 4 with Cristian Perez beating Santiago Diaz in straight sets 6-3, 6-1. 
 
In doubles, Will True and Blayze O'Keefe defeated Camilo Erazo and Javier Raya, 8-6. Then at No. 2 doubles, Perez joined Cesar Castro to win 8-5 over Diaz and Xavier Vicent. 
 
The Tigers had a chance to win all three doubles matches but lost in a tiebreak. Adrian Sabrojo and Hercilio Cabieses lost 9-8 (7-5) to Nicolas Garcis and Tiago Almeda. 
 
In singles, the match was decided with four singles victories for Lindsey Wilson. No. 13 Camilo Erazo took down No. 35 Will True in straight sets, while Vicent defeated O'Keefe in three sets and No. 41 Almedia beat Sabrojo in a three-set tiebreaker to decide the match. 
 
The Tigers, who rank No. 1 in the NCCAA, will now await their destiny in the NCCAA Championship slated for Monday, May 6 – Friday, May 10 in Mobile, Ala.
