Tigers improve in second round to finish runner-up; Warman shoots 72 in final round

OLD HICKORY, Tenn. — Campbellsville men's golf improved three strokes on their second round score of the Cumberland University Phoenix Invitational and the Tigers finished tied for second. 
 
CU shot 297-294 in the two-round tournament and finished tied with William Carey University. Both teams shot 591 overall and finished seven strokes behind the team winner Martin Methodist (584).

The Tigers were the top team from the Mid-South Conference in the field. Lindsey Wilson finished in fifth place (593) and Cumberland University was sixth (595).
 
Individually, Justin Warman finished in a tie for fourth with scores of 70-72. The Tigers also had three others in the Top 25. Landon Connor shot 73-76 and finished tied for 19th, while Austin Mahoney and Jonathan Brewington shot matching rounds of 77-73 to be tied for 21st.
 
Rounding out the Tigers was Mark Murphy. He shot 80-78 in his two rounds and finished tied for 50th
 
Lindsey Wilson's Callum Blinkhorn finished first by two strokes after firing 69-70 overall. 
 
The Tigers will now compete in their third straight tournament next week at the Indiana Wesleyan Spring Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, April 8-9.
