Brewington leads the way at the Brickyard; Tigers finish in seventh place

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Scored of 306 and 307 had Campbellsville University men's golf finished in seventh place this week at the Wildcat Cup hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University at Brickyard Crossing. 
 
The Tigers shot 306 as a team in the opening round and were in ninth place but a 307 moved them to seventh after the final round on Tuesday. 
 
Freshman Jon Brewington led the way for CU and climbed the leaderboard after an opening round 78. He shot a two-over 74 in round two on Tuesday and finished tied for 18th
 
Right behind him was sophomore Austin Mahoney. He finished in 24thwith scored of 76-77. 
 
Justin Warman shot consecutive 77s and was tied for 25th. Freshman Landon Connor was also tied for 25thwith scores of 75-79. 

Rounding out the Tigers was senior Halen Stamper's 82-81 and finished tied for 71st
 
Indiana Wesleyan's Cameron Luczka claimed individual medalist honors by five strokes. He out-paced Joaquin Peres and Tyler Church from Cardinal Stritch. 
 
Bellevue University won the team title after scores of 290-300. The host Wildcats were six strokes behind with scores of 292-304. 
 
The Tigers will now have three days to prepare for the Mid-South Conference Spring Invitational scheduled for this weekend. CU will travel to Elks CC in Portsmouth, Ohio for its final regular season tournament.
