CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – CU men's soccer will officially get the 2019-20 athletic season started for Campbellsville University as they open up their regular season schedule on Thursday against Boyce College at 7 p.m. ET.
The Tigers will head up to Louisville, Ky. to face the Bulldogs as both teams will be playing their first game of the season. Last year,
Adam Preston's squad finished with a 12-8 record and a trip to the NCCAA Championship after winning the Mid-East Regional.
Boyce is coming off of a 2018 season where they finished 5-11-1 overall and 3-4-1 in NCCAA play. The Bulldogs only play within the NCCAA in the same Mid-East region as Campbellsville.
CU will look to rely on a core of returners in defender
Connor Grant, midfielders
Marc Lawrence and
Tom Edge, forwards
Azad Iliozer and
Gustavo Izzo, and goalkeeper
Owen Stott with a majority of the 2019 roster welcoming newcomers to Campbellsville.
Following Thursday's match, the Tigers will also have the first home regular season contest for any CU program of 2019 when they welcome Central Methodist University to Finley Stadium on Sunday.
