Box Score OWENSBORO, Ky. – About 24 hours after their first Mid-South Conference loss of the season, the Campbellsville University women's volleyball team was able to put that behind them and bring home a 3-2 win over Brescia University on the road on Tuesday night.
CU took the win in the fifth set after being up 2-1 in the match after three sets and BU forcing the deciding set by winning the fourth. The match went the way of the Lady Tigers by three points as the match final went 23-25, 25-23, 25-13, 20-25, and 15-12.
The Lady Tigers had a significant improvement in their attack efforts against the Bearcats as they finished Tuesday night at .151 as a team after a .044 effort on Monday night.
Three Campbellsville attackers had double digit kills led by
Sonia Flendrich's 16 and nice supporting efforts from both
Kymbra Kirby and
Savannah Moss who each had 11. Both Moss and Flendrich recorded double-doubles on the night in attacks and digs as Flendrich dug out 17 attacks and Moss made 14 successful digs.

Paige Merrick and libero
Jaimie Thompson performed in their specialist roles quite nicely as Merrick also had a double-double in the match with 49 assists and 16 digs along with an even 40 digs from the senior Thompson who was playing in her hometown of Owensboro.
The Lady Tigers will get a much need day away from match play on Wedesday before back-to-back nights with home matches on Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be the second day off for CU in the last seven days as they prepare for a pair of MSC matches against Life and Cumberlands.
