COLUMBIA, Ky. – It was a day for climbing the leaderboards for the Campbellsville University men's golf team at Day 2 of the Lindsey Wilson College Fall Kickoff tournament at The Pines on Tuesday.
Neither the team nor an individual held a top spot on the leaderboards after Monday's first round but the Tiger team was able to shoot a 281 (-3) for the second-straight day on Tuesday to finish with an overall team score of 562 (-6) to finish on top of hosts Lindsey Wilson by five strokes for the tournament win.
Individually the Tigers had three players finish in a five-way tie for first place as
Justin Warman,
Seth Bohl, and
Austin Mahoney all finished at 138 (-4) for the tournament. Both Warman and Mahoney were in the Tigers' top-five to contribute to the CU team score but Bohl was competing as an individual to earn a spot in the playoff.
Warman, Bohl, and Mahoney all faced off against Callum Blinkhorn and Etienne Rensburg of the Blue Raiders as Warman was able to outlast all of them to win the playoff on the fifth hole with a birdie. Mahoney, Bohl, and Blinkhorn dropped out of the playoff after the first hole as Warman and Rensburg faced off for four sudden death playoff holes.
The rest of the Tigers' top-five in
Layton Hord,
Jon Brewington, and
Landon Connor were able to keep their scores around even as Hord finished at 70 (-1), Brewington finished at 72 (+1), and Connor finished at 74 (+3) on Tuesday to help CU on their way to a team final of six-under.
