CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Lady Tigers hope to get back to their winning ways as they travel to Bourbonnais, Ill. to compete in their final regular season tournament of the 2019 season.
Their tournament play will begin for the Lady Tigers on Friday as the Lady Tigers will face off against Saint Xavier and Judson University at 4 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. ET.
Friday's play will be followed by 11 a.m. ET and 1 p.m. ET meetings with Columbia College and Olivet Nazarene on Saturday.
Only the match against Olivet Nazarene will be streamed.
Lady Tiger Tournament Successes
- As Campbellsville heads to the Olivet Nazarene Tournament, they do so, sitting at a record of 11-7 overall.
- However, despite struggling on the road, the Lady Tigers have found tremendous success in neutral sited games, playing to a 6-2 record in their two previous weekend tournaments.
- Through their two tournaments, Campbellsville has exited each with a 3-1 record, only falling to Reinhardt University and Indiana University East.
Scouting Saint Xavier University
- Twelve games into their 2019 season, the Cougars enter the tournament 3-9, losing each of their last three matches.
- Despite their record, the have been able to tally more attacks and kills than their opponents.
- However, this has come in the place of a wide disparity of attack errors for the Cougars giving them an overall attack percentage off .111.
- Nadia Atton has been the leading attacker for Saint Xavier, as she has 142 kills on the season, averaging 3.3 per set.
Scouting Judson University
- The Eagles enter the Olivet Nazarene Tournament with a record of 13-6.
- Judson has found a majority of their offensive successes behind the service line, as they rank second in the NAIA in service aces with 155.
- Mackenzie Ebert has led the offensive charge for the Eagles, as she is 10thin the country in aces with 32 and also leads the team with 3.2 kills per set.
- Defensively, Judson has also had success in the block category, totaling 148 to rank seventh in the country.
- This effort has been led by Katie Veleria who ranked 17thin the country with 67 total blocks.
Scouting Columbia College
- The Cougars of Columbia College will begin the tournament with a 13-2 record, as they sit at 12thin the NAIA's top 25 poll.
- Columbia enters the tournament as one of the premier versatile offenses in the NAIA as they rank among the top 20 teams in hitting percentage, kills/set, assists/set, and services/set.
- Among these rankings, the Cougars sit at ninth in hitting percentage with .240, 10thwith 13.7 kills/set, seventh with 12.8 assists/set, and 20thwith 2.2 aces/set.
- Individually, the Cougar setter, Luisa Ferreira has averaged 11.5 assists/set ranking her third in the NAIA.
Scouting Olivet Nazarene University
- Olivet Nazarene will enter play of their tournament with a record of 6-8, but have developed a three game win streak since Sept. 14th.
- In a difficult stretch of games, the Tigers have matched up against five teams mentioned in the NAIA top 25 poll, falling to each of those opponents.
- Outside of their games against these prime opponents, Olivet Nazarene would hold a record of 6-3.
- The Tigers have been led by 2.7 kills/set from Kassidy Heeringa on a kill percentage of .153.
Following the Olivet Nazarene Tournament the Tigers will return to play the bulk of the Mid-South Conference schedule. They will visit Thomas More on Oct. 1
stat 7 p.m. ET before returning home for a match against Georgetown on Oct. 3
