Conner continues hot streak and fires 68 to lead Georgetown College Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Three scores in the 60s have Campbellsville University men's golf sitting in first place at the Georgetown College Fall Invitational at Cherry Blossom Golf Course.

The field is led by sophomore Landon Conner's 68. He's tied atop the leaderboard with Thomas More University's Kyle Alexander.

The 68 is the career-low for Conner after he won the NCCAA Mid-East Regional Tournament after firing back-to-back 70s. With that performance, he was named the Mid-South Conference Men's Golfer of the Week coming into today's tournament.

Jonathan Brewington and Austin Mahoney both fired three-under 69s and are tied with Lincoln Memorial University's Eli Cox for third place.

Justin Warman is tied for eighth after an opening round 73 and Layton Hord is one shot back at 74 and is tied for 14th

The Tigers (279) lead the team field by four strokes over Thomas More (283). The 279 is also the fourth-lowest shot in a round in program history – three of the Top 4 have come in the last two years under head coach Jim Ward

The second round of the Georgetown College Fall Invitational is set to begin Tuesday, at Cherry Blossom.
