CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Preparing for their first game away from the Powell Athletic Center since Nov. 7, the Campbellsville University women's basketball team will head to Pikeville, Ky. to face University of Pikeville at 5:30 on Friday at the Appalachian Wireless Arena.
The Lady Tigers are coming off of their first Mid-South Conference game in a home win over Bethel University by a final score of 70-43. Both teams struggled from the field but CU was able to pull away in the second and fourth quarters, outscoring the Wildcats by nine in each of those periods to eventually finish with a 27-point victory.
Campbellsville was able to hold advantages in key secondary categories with the bench outscoring Bethel's 26-17 and also scoring 17 points off of turnovers compared to just 10 for BU.
BROADCAST & ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
- Matt Payton, the voice of Tiger basketball, will be on the call for the broadcast as he will bring the action from Pikeville to the airwaves of 88.7 The Tiger as the radio broadcast will also air online at www.campbellsvilletigers.com/watch.
- University of Pikeville's policy for spectators at the Appalachian Wireless Arena is that no fans or spectators of any kind will be allowed to attend the basketball game.

MOVING UP THE POLL
- This past Wednesday morning, the NAIA released the first in-season Top-25 Coaches' Poll as the Lady Tigers jumped up two spots from No. 4 to No. 2.
- They sit at a tie for that No. 2 spot with Wayland Baptist University as both CU and WBU earned 566 total points in the voting as Campbellsville received the higher number of first place votes at six than Wayland Baptist's three.
- Other Mid-South Conference teams were able to improve their ranking from the initial preseason poll as Shawnee State moved from No. 9 to No. 7, Thomas More moved from No. 14 to No. 8, and Lindsey Wilson went from being unranked to No. 19.
- Of the teams that climbed, Carroll College have the biggest jump as they moved up 14 spots in the poll from being ranked No. 20 in the preseason to being ranked No. 6 now in the current poll.
SCOUTING UPIKE
- The Bears have had a strong start of the season at a 6-1 overall record while being 2-1 in Mid-South Conference play.
- With the NAIA Top-25 poll being voted on days before its release this past Wednesday, UPike would almost certainly be in the rankings after their most recent win over then No. 9 and No. 7 Shawnee State this past Monday by a final score of 92-74, along with a win over No. 14 Bethel.
- Individually, forward Brianna Burbridge leads the team in scoring with a 16.9 points per game through seven games as a powerful low post presence at 6-1.
- Head coach Clifton Williams has put out the exact same starting five for all seven games so expect the Bears to run out guards Sierra Feltner, Mary Englert, Alexis Reed, along with forwards Morgan Stamper and Burbridge for the opening tip on Friday.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Lady Tigers will hit Christmas break after Friday's game and won't return to official game action until Dec. 31 when they're scheduled to host Cumberland University.
