A top 15, Battle of Highway 55 matchup enters the Powell on Saturday afternoon

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson enter Saturday's Battle of Highway 55 matchup in a tie for first place in the Mid-South Conference standings as the pair of rivals boast 10-2 record throughout conference play.
 
A top 15 matchup in the Powell Athletic Center, the No. 3 Lady Tigers are looking to continue on their seven-game win streak over the No. 12 Blue Raiders on Saturday. Lindsey Wilson enters the game rolling with six consecutive wins including a 13-point victory over, Shawnee State, the lone competitor to top CU this season. The conference's second and third leading scorers will meet as Reagan Turner and Madison Faulkner seek to help their clubs to capture possession of the Mid-South.
 
HOW TO WATCH SERIES FACTS
  • Matching up since 1986 in the Battle of Highway 55, the Lady Tigers have dominated the rivalry, with a 55-19 record over the Blue Raiders.
  • CU has not fallen in the rivalry since Jan. 25, 2018, as the Lady Tigers have currently won seven-straight.
  • Since beginning her tenure in 2007, Ginger High Colvin has put together a 22-7 record against the Blue Raiders and Blue Raider head coach John B. Wethington, with only three losses coming the Powell Athletic Center.
  • On the other side, Coach Wethington, at the helm of the LWC women's program since 1989-90, holds a 17-51 record against the Lady Tigers.
  • Last season as the Blue Raiders visited CU, the Lady Tigers to a 75-64 victory behind a team high 21 points for Savannah Gregory.
 
LAST MEETING - Dec. 7
  • In the first meeting of the two rivals this season, the Lady Tigers exploded in the second quarter, to help CU prevail 86-65 in the Biggers Sports Center.
  • After Campbellsville closed the first quarter with a three point lead, CU put up 29 points in the second, outscoring Lindsey Wilson by 19 points in the frame, to enter the half with a 22 point lead.
  • Despite being outscored by one point in the second half, the dominant first half performance led the Lady Tigers to their 12th win of the season.
  • The duo of Lexy Lake and Savannah led the way for CU as they accounted for 17 points a piece.
  • As was usual for Lake, she did most of her damage behind the arc, shooting 5-6 from the three point line.
  • The Blue Raiders were led by MSC's second leading scorer, Reagan Turner as she put together a game-high 21 points.
 
SCOUTING Lindsey Wilson
  • Lindsey Wilson enters the weekend with the overall 12th ranking the NAIA's most recent release of the Coach's Top 25 Poll.
  • Reagan Turner leads the way for LWC, averaging 18.27 ppg, ranking 12th in the NAIA.
  • Turner has been successful developing her game from outside the 3-pt line as her 43.1% shooting from deep also ranks her sixth in the NAIA.
  • DeAsia Outlaw has led the team on the defensive side, with a team-high in rebounds, steals, and blocks.
  • Outlaw ranks sixth in the country in blocks (53) and 20th in steals (60), while pulling down eight rebounds per game.
  • Lindsey Wilson is currently in the midst of a six game winning streak, coming off a 13 point win over Shawnee State and an 18 point victory over Fisk University.
 
 
TIGER CLAWZ
  • CU head coach Ginger High Colvin achieved the 20-win total for the 12th-straight time in her 13 seasons leading the charge for the Lady Tigers. The only season she did not lead Campbellsville to a 20-win season was in her first season as head coach when the Lady Tigers won 19 games.
  • Campbellsville is the No. 1 assisting team in NAIA Division I with a team total of 506 behind Caitlin Hall's 139 assists, good for No. 5 individually in that category.
  • Forcing turnovers has been a big part of the CU game plan this season as they force their opponents into 27.1 turnovers per game and rank first in NAIA DI in total steals at 415, steals per game at 15.96, and turnover margin at +11.4 this season.
  • The three-point shot has been a big benefit for the Lady Tiger offense as they rank No. 1 in the NAIA in team three-point percentage at 39.1 percent behind one of the best three-point shooters in NAIA DI as Lexy Lake ranks No. 3 in total threes made (78) as well as No. 6 in threes made per game (3.1), and No. 2 in three-point percentage (44.8%).
 
INDIVIDUAL MILESTONES WATCH
  • Upper classmen in the CU starting lineup have been and will be climbing the all-time leader boards in the history of Lady Tiger basketball.
  • Starting with Madison Faulkner joining the 1,000-point club, she now sits at 24th on the all-time scoring list with 1,361 career points.
  • Savannah Gregory has joined Faulkner in the 1,000-point club and now has 1,111 career points. She is also in the top-five on the career steals list as she is currently at 301, recently passing Mackenzie Lee and Rosanne Conlan for now at third all-time.
  • Gregory and Lee hold a little more of a connection than just being in the top-five on the career steals list as Gregory become the first Lady Tiger since Lee to reach the 1,000-point milestone during their junior campaigns. Lee eventually finished with 1,462 career-points, which is 16th all-time.
  • Senior Caitlin Hall currently has 560 career assists, just passing Katie Allen for fifth all-time on the career assists list.
 
1,000-WIN PLATEAU
  • In the 45th season of Lady Tiger basketball, Campbellsville reached a milestone that had only been accomplished twice in the history of NAIA women's basketball by winning 1,000 games.
  • The monumental win came in the Lady Tigers 91-59 win over Martin Methodist in Pulaski, Tenn. on Nov. 9 as part of the MSC/SSAC Crossover.
  • Campbellsville joins Wayland Baptist and Union University (Tenn.) as the only other programs to reach the feat as Union is no longer part of the NAIA after moving to the NCAA Division II level.
 
UP NEXT FOR CU
  • Campbellsville will look to close the home portion of the season as they host Thomas More on Feb. 20th for senior day.
